A licensed travel company site built for worry-free domestic and regional tours

FQD Travel & Tours is a licensed Kuala Lumpur-based tour operator with five years of experience running bus tours and holiday packages across Malaysia and into Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. The website needed to communicate legitimacy, comfort, and ease — for travellers who’ve been burned by unlicensed operators before.

The challenge

The Malaysian tour market has a trust problem. Unlicensed operators, disappearing deposits, and last-minute cancellations have made travellers deeply cautious about booking with companies they find online rather than through personal referrals. For a legitimate, licensed business like FQD Travel, the website had to do the work of a reference — proving credentials before a customer felt comfortable handing over a deposit.

At the same time, the travel package decision is emotional, not just transactional. Travellers aren’t just buying bus seats — they’re buying the feeling of a smooth, carefree journey. The site had to sell that feeling alongside the practical details of what’s included.

What we built

  • Licensing credentials above the fold — “Registered under Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia & Akta Perniagaan 1956” is stated plainly in the About section, visible within the first scroll. For a category where fraud is a real concern, this single line does more trust-building work than any product description.
  • Destination showcase with visuals — Pulau Penang, Melaka, Terengganu, and Kuala Lumpur are the primary Malaysian destinations, presented with engaging imagery. Travellers see themselves in the destinations before committing to a package.
  • Service types clearly separated — tour bus packages, flexible individual packages, and international tours (Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia) each have their own section. Visitors self-select based on their need without having to call and ask what’s available.
  • Testimonials and gallery — past travellers’ reviews and trip photographs address the emotional side of the purchase. Someone considering a group bus tour wants to see what the experience looks like.
  • Simple “start your journey” CTA — the conversion goal is a WhatsApp conversation. Travel packages have too many variables (group size, dates, inclusions) for a form to handle efficiently. Chat starts the relationship; the relationship closes the booking.

Design decisions worth noting

Legitimacy first, excitement second

Most travel sites lead with stunning destination photos and inspirational copy. For a market with a trust deficit around online booking, FQD leads with legitimacy signals — licence registration, years of operation, KL address — then layers in the excitement. Trust enables the purchase; excitement makes it desirable.

Malaysia-first, regional second

The site positions domestic destinations (Penang, Melaka, Terengganu, KL) as the core offering, with international tours as an extension. Domestic travel has higher search volume and shorter conversion cycles; international packages are the premium upsell for existing customers.

The result

FQD Travel now has a website that converts the sceptical Malaysian traveller — someone who wants to book online but needs to see proof of legitimacy before committing a deposit. The licensing credentials, experience record, and destination showcase give first-time visitors a reason to choose FQD over unlicensed alternatives they find on social media. The WhatsApp flow handles the rest, turning interested enquiries into confirmed bookings through conversation.

“Pelanggan baru sekarang terus tanya pasal pakej tanpa tanya dulu sama ada kami berlesen atau tidak. Itu persoalan biasa sebelum ini — website kami dah jawab soalan tu sebelum diorang tanya.”
